1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to the Flarewell iOS and Android mobile application and this website.
Developer/operator: Barcoe on the go LLC
Privacy contact: support@flarewell.org
2. Information you provide
Depending on how you use Flarewell, you may provide:
- Account information: email address, password/authentication information and user/account identifier.
- Profile information: display name, date of birth, height, unit preferences, health-related preferences, conditions or diagnoses you enter, allergens and health notes.
- Health tracking information: flares, severity, pain scores, symptoms, affected body areas, suspected triggers, medications, supplements, treatment intake, food and ingredients, calorie/macronutrient information, hydration, workouts/activity, energy, weight, body-fat measurements, menstrual-cycle records and notes.
Many fields are optional and depend on the features you choose to use.
3. How information is used
Information is used to create and operate your account; save and retrieve health records; display the Health Calendar and Progress trends; generate Weekly Reviews, Flarewell Insights and Doctor Reports you select; maintain application security; respond to support and deletion requests; and operate and improve the service.
Personal health information is not used for advertising.
4. Health Insights
Flarewell may analyse information you record to calculate factual summaries, trends and associations. These calculations do not establish medical causation and are not medical diagnoses. Flarewell does not replace a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
5. Cloud storage and service providers
Flarewell uses cloud infrastructure for authentication, API access and secure application data storage. The current mobile app architecture uses Amazon Web Services, including services used for authentication and application data storage.
Service providers process information only as required to operate Flarewell.
6. Data sharing
Flarewell does not sell personal or health information. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the application, such as cloud infrastructure providers. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Doctor Report PDFs are generated locally on your device and are not automatically uploaded. Reports are shared only when you choose to export or share them using your device.
7. Advertising and Google AdMob
Flarewell uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google, to display occasional advertisements to users of its free service.
Non-personalised advertising
Flarewell is configured to request non-personalised advertisements. We do not provide your health records, medical conditions, symptoms, medications, menstrual-cycle information, account identity or other health-related information to Google AdMob for advertising targeting.
Information processed by Google
When advertising services are enabled, Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain information, including:
- Your device’s IP address, which may be used to estimate your approximate location.
- App and advertising interactions, including advertisements viewed and interactions with advertisements.
- Device or app identifiers, subject to applicable platform restrictions and privacy settings.
- Diagnostic and performance information relating to the app and advertising services.
Google may use this information to deliver advertisements, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud and maintain or improve its services.
Non-personalised advertising does not mean that no information is collected or processed.
Advertising consent and privacy choices
Where required by applicable law, Flarewell uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present advertising consent and privacy choices. You can accept or decline the relevant consent requests. Where available, you can review your advertising preferences through Flarewell → Profile → Account & privacy → Advertising privacy choices.
If the necessary permission to request advertisements is unavailable or has been declined, Flarewell continues to provide its core health-tracking functionality.
Third-party advertising provider
Google processes advertising-related information according to its own privacy practices and applicable legal requirements. For more information:
For questions about how Flarewell uses advertising, contact support@flarewell.org.
8. Data security
Network communication uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Authentication is required to access account health records. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect stored information.
No system is completely secure, and Flarewell cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data retention
Account and health information is retained while needed to provide the service or until you request deletion, subject to legitimate legal or security retention requirements.
Where information must be retained for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes, it may be retained only for as long as necessary for that purpose.
10. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your Flarewell account and associated personal and health data. Account deletion is intended to remove your application account, profile information and stored health records associated with that account.
We aim to complete account and associated health-data deletion within 28 days of receiving your request and any information reasonably required to verify account ownership, and we will confirm when deletion is complete. Data legally required to be retained may be exempt where applicable.

Privacy FAQ
Quick answers to common questions. The full policy above remains the authoritative version.
What health data does Flarewell store about me?
Only what you choose to record: flares, symptoms, pain scores, suspected triggers, medications and supplements, food and ingredient logs, hydration, workouts, energy, weight and body measurements, menstrual-cycle records and notes. Many fields are optional — you decide what to track.
Is my health data used for advertising or sold to anyone?
No. Flarewell does not sell personal or health information, and your health records — conditions, symptoms, medications, menstrual-cycle data and notes — are never used for advertising or shared with Google AdMob for ad targeting. Flarewell requests non-personalised advertisements only.
When advertising is enabled, Google AdMob may still process advertising-related information automatically, such as your device’s IP address (which can estimate approximate location), app and ad interactions, device or app identifiers, and diagnostic and performance data. That is Google’s advertising data, not your health data. See 7. Advertising and Google AdMob above.
Can I control the advertising I see?
Where required by applicable law, Flarewell shows Google’s consent screen so you can accept or decline the relevant requests. Where available, you can review advertising preferences in Flarewell → Profile → Account & privacy → Advertising privacy choices. Declining advertising permissions does not remove your ability to track flares, food, treatments and workouts.
Where is my data stored?
Your account and health records are stored on secure cloud infrastructure. The current mobile app architecture uses Amazon Web Services for authentication and application data storage, and network communication is encrypted over HTTPS/TLS.
Who can see my health records?
Your records are protected by your account login. Service providers process information only as required to operate Flarewell. Doctor Report PDFs are generated locally on your device and are shared only when you choose to export or share them yourself.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal and health data at any time — see How to request account and data deletion. Deletion is intended to remove your account, profile and stored health records. We aim to complete deletion within 28 days of your request and any information we reasonably need to verify account ownership, and we’ll confirm when it is complete. — in-app deletion is not yet available, so requests are currently handled by email.
Can I get a copy of my data or correct it?
Yes. You may request access, correction or export of your information by contacting support@flarewell.org.
Are Flarewell Insights medical advice?
No. Insights are factual summaries, trends and associations calculated from your own records. They do not establish medical causation and are not diagnoses. Flarewell does not replace a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
What happens to my data if Flarewell changes this policy?
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page changes whenever material updates are made, so you can always see when the policy last changed.
